Membership

Membership in Caravan No. 16  is offered to any member in good standing of the Syria Shrine. After joining Syria Shrine your first year's dues in the Caravan are free. That's right, the first year is FREE! After the first year, dues are nominal. As the Caravan does not have the overhead of a meeting place, expenses are minimal. If you're interested in membership in Caravan No. 16 please contact us.

How do you become a Shriner?

Blue (Masonic) Lodge - Every Shriner MUST be a Mason. The place Masons meet is called a Blue Lodge or a Masonic Lodge. It is also sometimes referred to as a Symbolic Lodge. The initiation into a Masonic Lodge is comprised of three steps called Degrees. Usually the degrees are done one month apart.

The York and Scottish Rites - These two Rites are additional organizations a Mason may join after completing his initiation into the Blue Lodge. Membership in these bodies is no longer a requirement for membership in the Shrine. Although you are encouraged to join them, it is not required.

The Shrine - Once you have been made a Mason and decide you want to join the Shrine it simply requires filling out a petition and going through the Shrine initiation. After joining the Shrine you are then eligible for membership in various Clubs, Caravans, and Units. Some of which take on a strictly social function and others that participate in the parades. Use our contact page to get more information on joining the Caravan!
